When you can recognize and perform the basic rhythms above, you are well on your way to reading notation and bringing the composers' musical ideas to life!

We will practice clapping and counting these notation symbols in real-time performance during class. When we sing, these symbols tell us how long to sustain our voice on each note or how long to sit in silence and count waiting for our next "entrance."
